April 29, 2007 - Kick Off Blog

This is the kick off of this Blog.
I would like to get feedback about using this as a way to communicate.

We already have a Google Groups account that we are supposed to using for updates.

We can get a web hosting and web name
If we go this route, Touchaheart.com is already taken.
I tried "homeless-hawaii.com" and it is available.

Here are some other names to consider if we are going to have a web page.
HOMELESSALOHASTATE.COM
HOMELESSHI.COM
HOMELESSHONOLULU.COM
HOMELESSALOHA.COM
MYHOMELESSHAWAII.COM
HOMELESSHAWAIILIVE.COM
HOMELESS-HAWAIIONLINE.COM
HOMELESS-HAWAIIHOME.COM
HOMELESS-HAWAIISITE.COM
HOMELESS-HAWAIIWEB.COM
HOMELESS-HAWAIILIVE.COM
HOMELESS-HAWAIIBLOG.COM
MYHOMELESS-HAWAII.COM
THEHOMELESS-HAWAII.COM
OFFICIALHOMELESS-HAWAII.COM

I have web hosting that can be used for the next 2 years for free, and longer if this works.
It is 5 gigs so that won't be a problem - or at least I don't think so.

If this is something to be considered, who will maintain and contribute to it?

Eugene could us this as a way to publish his journey, struggles, prayers, etc.
We can also use a website base for the organization - tie the Blog into the website.
We can also have others that do ministry in the field (Pastor Curtis) do a Blog as to their experiences and prayer needs.

If we can get the churches to "help out" with a needs listed;
Then, we can address them through participation of the people in the churches we contact.

Example:
[1] (Pokai) So and so needs notebooks and pencils for their children
[2] (Blaisdel) Indian Duane needs a brain
[3] (General) Corinthia needs a tune up so she can get to work
[4] Etc..

If needs are specifically listed and advertised, like Angel tree they might have a "sponsor" who will help resolve it. They can stay anonymous if they chose.

They would contact Touch A Heart and get the item resolved.

Just an idea.

I need feedback please.

Colin

Great idea. Most people have things at home that they don't need. What a better way to help than to give to someone specifically requesting an item. Looks like you are doing much more than this for people. Please continue the wish list and myself and others will try to help. Good luck to you and your wonderful, fulfilling work. Love to all you, Jody
